On the morning of September, 11, 2019, God strolled through his garden of life, and sought a beautiful flower to adorn His Kingdom. With careful consideration, He chose to make a selection, one unparalleled and unique—He decided to pick a rare and beautiful flower, one symbolizing strength, integrity, majesty and splendor. He chose Margo Renee Flowers.
Margo Renee Flowers, affectionately known as “Babe,” was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 12, 1954. She was raised on the south side of Chicago, along with her sister Debra Tucker, by their loving mother, Bertha Mae Tucker, and grandparents, Laura and James Hill, all of whom preceded her in death.
Margo accepted Christ at an early age , and her relationship with God was always a major focal point in her life. She was a member of Maryland Avenue Baptist Church for over 20 years, where she also served as a Sunday School teacher. She loved to read the Bible and in recent years learned to text specifically for the purpose of sending daily spiritual encouragement to her children and grandchildren.
Margo attended Bowen High School in Chicago, IL. In her mid-twenties, she fell in love with, and married, Derek Flowers, who preceded her in death.
Margo was a doting career, stay-at-home mom to her three daughters: Nicole, L’Oreal, and Tiffany; she found true joy and fulfillment in raising her children and assisting in the rearing of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her love of family and community resulted in many honorary children and grandchildren throughout the years, and she nurtured each honorary family member, with the same tenderness, care, and responsiveness, that she provided to her own natural family.
Margo was known for her sophisticated ,stylish flair and loved to shop. She was compassionate, caring, and loyal, instilling those same qualities into her children and grandchildren. “Babe” was a rare gem, loved dearly by her family and all who encountered her presence.
Margo leaves to cherish her memory her three loving daughters: Nicole(David), L’Oreal, and Tiffany; grandchildren :Christian(Jesufemi), Marquis, Jimmy, Jireal, Derek, and Lordess; great-grandchildren : Psalm, Brooklyn, Eden, and Asher; aunt Rosalie Jones; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, honorary children, honorary grandchildren and friends .
